4v4 is the small-sided format the U.S. Soccer Development Initiative recommends for young players. With only four players per side on a smaller field, every kid gets the ball constantly. At our climate-controlled indoor facility in Merriam, players average 5× more touches per game than they would on a full-size outdoor field. More touches = faster development.

What ages can play in Spring II 4v4?
Kindergarten through high school is welcome. Teams are formed by age and gender. Happy Feet Kansas City’s pages target K through 3rd grade graduates of our preschool program — that’s our sweet spot — but the league itself runs through age 18.
What’s the difference between Individual and Team Registration?
Individual Registration ($189/$199) includes a weekly 1-hour practice plus a weekend game with a designated Legends coach. Team Registration ($415 for 6 games, $450 for 8 games) covers games only — no practices or coach. To get a Legends coach with your group, register everyone as individuals and contact the directors.
When and where are practices held?
Monday through Thursday, 4pm to 9pm at 9701 W 67th St., Merriam, KS — the Legends indoor facility. Younger age groups practice earlier. You select your preferred weeknight at registration.
Are practices and games indoors or outdoors?
The Legends Merriam facility is fully indoor, climate-controlled, with four turf fields. No rain delays, no heat advisories, no cancellations.
Can my child play with their school friends?
Yes. We accept teammate requests during registration and actively build school teams when groups sign up together.
How is this different from Happy Feet weekend leagues?
Happy Feet weekend leagues serve ages 2–5 with a 30-minute class plus 15–30 minute non-competitive game. Spring II 4v4 is the next level — Kindergarten and older, structured 48-minute games on a 4v4 field, with weeknight practices and weekend games.
